UK eases visa rules for Emiratis

From 1 January 2014 United Arab Emirates, Qatari and Omani passport holders can visit the UK for up to six months under a visa waiver scheme.
To obtain an Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW) an online form must be completed at least 48 hours before departure. Forms can be completed at Taqaddum Visa Office in Al Ain.
Each EVW document is valid for a single entry only, so you must complete a form at least 48 hours before departure every time you wish to visit the UK.
The EVW will make life easier and offers a new way to visit the UK. There is no requirement to provide biometrics (fingerprints and photo) or attend a visa application centre and the EVW document is issued immediately via a secure web site. You must present a printed copy of your EVW document at departure, retain the document and present again on arrival in the UK.
Whether you are visiting the UK for business or leisure, make sure you get your EVW document at least 48 hours before you depart.
Those who travel frequently or at short notice are advised to apply for a multi-entry visit visa or longer term visa. This offers more flexibility and can last up to ten years.
If you wish to work, get married/enter a civil partnership, or stay longer than six months, you must apply for a visa, but for all other short visits you can use an EVW.
The Electronic Visa Waiver is only valid for a single entry. Every time you re-enter the UK, even if it’s from a European country, you will need to complete a new EVW form 48 hours before departure.
